Archive Edition Textiles was founded by Paul Freeman in 1999 in Los Angeles, CA along with Nancy Eaton.
Paul Freeman is an antique dealer who has specialized in vintage textiles for almost 30 years. Intimate association with countless varieties of historic period fabrics and styles has given Paul a unique insight and acute discrimination into this particularly rich and diverse form of artistic expression.
From the beginning, he was drawn to the textiles of the Arts and Crafts era, an art movement known primarily for its architecture and Craftsman/Mission/Rustic style furniture. Originally, bungalows and rustic cabins built during this time were tastefully adorned with woven, printed, or stenciled fabrics, woven upholstered seating, drapery and other items.
Since few original woven furnishing fabrics survive from the Arts and Crafts era, Paul's goal was to revive appreciation of these historic fabrics. By providing truly authentic period designs, colors and style, Archive Edition Textiles produces quality fabrics we trust you will appreciate.
Nancy Eaton is an artist/designer and Decorative Arts Historian. She graduated from Massachusetts College of Art in Boston with a dual major in Ceramics/Art History then achieved her Masters from the Cooper-Hewitt Museum/Parsons/New School in New York.
